ISO Courses Offered

The “Training For Medical Laboratory Professionals: Risk Management in Medical Laboratores” provides an understanding on the general concepts of risk assessment and focuses on developing risk management strategies guided by MSISO 15189:2014 and ISO 22367:2020 Medical Laboratories as well as risk analysis.

This training also introduces the term “risk-based thinking” (which is not present in MSISO 15189:2014) which highlights that relevant information from the laboratory’s examination processes should be continously monitored, analysed, and used for the risk evaluation reviewing referring to the term “preveting action” (MSISO 15189:2012, section 4.11)

This concept will gain more importance when the new ISO 15189 (currently under development) is introduced in the near future.

Objectives

1. Define terms and recognizethe importance & benefits ofrisk management.
2. List the major processes in risk management and associated activities & create a plan for risk assessment
3. Identify risks and potential hazards in laboratory processes & analyze the likelihood and severity of the identified risk
4. Determine the priorities for risk mitigation and control, implement actions for risk control, & monitoring the risk management program
