Formation of the Phlebotomy Association of Malaysia

The formation of PAM arises from our observation that currently there is a lack of formal training and regulation in the practice of phlebotomy in Malaysia. Practically anyone can practice the trade without formal training. Such practice may cause errors in laboratory results, risk to the patient and phlebotomist, poor standard of patient care, and inefficiency. We hope, with the establishment of PAM, we shall be able to address these issues and raise the quality and standard of phlebotomy service in the country.

We are pleased to announce the formation of the Phlebotomy Association of Malaysia (PAM) as of June 22, 2013. Its name in Bahasa is Persatuan Phlebotomi Malaysia.

The formation of PAM arises from our observation that currently there is a lack of formal training and regulation in the practice of phlebotomy in Malaysia.
